Curriculum

Courses Included in this Free Certificate in New Testament

This Free Certificate in New Testament is made up of four courses that move from a survey of the whole canon, through the life of Christ, into doctrine and a close exegetical study of a single epistle.

Phase 1

Survey & the Gospels

BIBL 106 New Testament Survey
This course gives students a clear overview of the whole New Testament, from the life of Jesus Christ to the growth of the early church. It covers all 27 books: the four Gospels, the book of Acts, the letters of Paul and other apostles, and the book of Revelation. The course explains the historical and cultural background of these writings, including the influence of the Old Testament, Judaism, and the Greek and Roman world. It also traces how the life, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus turned a small group of followers into a movement that spread across the ancient world.
BIBL 103 Life of Christ
This course covers the life, ministry, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospels. It begins with historical background — the years between the Old and New Testaments, and how Persian, Greek, and Roman rule shaped Jewish culture and expectations. From there it traces the life of Jesus step by step, from his early ministry in Judea through his busiest years in Galilee, including the Sermon on the Mount and the parables. Special attention goes to how he trained the twelve apostles, his later ministry in Judea and Perea, and the final week in Jerusalem.

Phase 2

Doctrine & Exegesis

THEO 116 Systematic Theology I
This course introduces the foundations of Christian doctrine, built directly from Scripture. It begins with the existence, nature, and attributes of God, then moves through the person and work of Christ and the role of the Holy Spirit. Step by step, it builds through key doctrines, always connecting theology to ministry and daily Christian life. Students use video lessons, guided reading, and reflection so theological truth becomes part of their own spiritual growth, not just their knowledge. It is designed for future pastors, church leaders, missionaries, and any believer who wants a strong theological foundation.
BIBL 109 Critical Analysis of the Epistle to the Ephesians
This course offers a close, detailed study of Ephesians, one of the richest and most practical letters in the New Testament. Students trace Paul's argument step by step: from the believer's identity in Christ, through God's plan of redemption for the whole world, to the joining of Jew and Gentile into one body, and finally to practical instructions for daily life, work, and relationships. Working closely with the text, students draw out theological principles and see how the letter shapes conduct, relationships, family life, work, and spiritual growth. It serves as a model for studying any New Testament letter closely.

Every course is delivered through video lessons and assessed with short tests only — there are no papers, projects, or hands-on assignments to submit.
